A slow, sneaky upright-bass noir walking line plays. The chalk outline on the sidewalk peels itself up off the pavement with a dry chalk scrape, sits up, and stretches its back with a loud knee-pop crack. It dusts off its shoulders, little puffs of chalk dust drifting away, then strolls out of frame with scuffing footsteps, leaving the empty sidewalk. A second later one chalk hand reaches back into frame and quickly draws a small smiley face where its head used to be. Chalk squeak.
